I’m looking for a metaphor
to disguise the words
describing all the things I’d do to you
When we’re back together
I could write about a humming bird
visiting a flower
While I really want to say
I would kiss you all over
I could speak about the hot and burning sun
getting extinguished by the rain
While it is my tongue who’s fiercely
dancing on your skin
Or maybe I’ll involve more of nature’s beauty
Like hills, mountains and the stars up above
No, that’s too obvious
Anyone would guess it’s just us
making love
I think I would rather just tell
what’s really going on
But the things I’d do to you
are far too precious to share
And anyway they’ll have to wait
Until the co-sleeping part is done
